With the opening of the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi fast approaching, we have recently supplied the AquaDeck system to the project. As the water features around the building have been flooded, this makes access to the fabric of the venue problematic. However with AquaDeck on site, final finishing can be carried out on a safe, strong and buoyant structure.
Testing of the AquaDeck system in conjunction with trackway systems to create floating roads suitable for trucks and heavy plant is continuing in the USA. In June 2016 we undertook testing in Chicago, which can be seen under ‘case studies’. The results were impressive and we have received positive feedback from many interested parties.
Another sale of the AquaDeck system, and another satisfied customer. We recently supplied a large number of our pontoon units to a specialist engineering company in Southern Ireland. The units will be utilised on the refurbishment of existing piles in a busy sea port, providing a safe and stable platform for the working personnel.
As AquaDeck expands, we have taken the decision to expand our storage facilities to ensure that we are always ready to help and service our customers. During May and June we will be transferring the AquaDeck system and all the ancillary equipment to a new custom built facility in Dubai Industrial City.
Once again we supported a unique structure for the Hermes brand. We created the floating Hermes exhibition in the Dubai Mall lagoon at the beginning of 2016, and now we have helped create a floating bridge for the brand to house a new promotion in the Citywalk venue.
To provide a suitable viewing platform for the judges during the 4th edition of the FINA High Diving World Cup, we provided a floating platform to extend an existing marina jetty within the Yas Marina venue.
The 11th edition of Art Dubai took place during March at the Madinat Jumeirah venue. TerraTech was contracted to build and install a floating structure using the AquaDeck system, to provide a unique way of exhibiting a stunning art installation by renowned artist, Rana Begum.
Having previously supplied the AquaDeck system to the 2015 and 2016 Drones for Good Award, we once again supplied innovative floating platforms for the 2017 awards.
